Welcome back - but DO calm down. Northeast Illinois Council has been
fighting to get the members of the Mormon Church to participate in the
district and council to MY knowledge for 20 years, with some progress.
Mormons, as Gina will back up since she IS a Mormon, are here to serve
mankind. Therefore, if and when one knows that and approaches the person
with this in mind, it is certainly easier to get some involvement.
However -- Mormon Woodbadge IS a separate course. One of my unit
commissioners received her Woodbadge training by attending one. Exploring
Woodbadge is yet again another course. Of course, there were slight
adjustments to accommodate the Mormon participants, as there should be for
Jewish, Roman Catholic, Moslem, etc. As it should be at ANY Scouting

take the needs of our participants into consideration when planning ANY
I do have Mormon Scouters on my commissioner staff, and many, many Mormon
friends. I do find them loyal and trustworthy friends, and true friends in
every sense of the word. I have always enjoyed learning more and more
about the Mormon beliefs, and in fact have my own Book of Mormon, which I
actually have read.
Do stay calm - Mormons always do - and welcome back. I, as others, wish
you all the success in the world in finding employment.
