Thanks all for the responses! To answer some of the questions in response to
the requirements: (the requirements: be 11 years old; be 10.5 and completed 5th
grade; or have earned the Arrow of Light award; these from just now reading the
messages- hope I remembered them correctly!).
Some of the boys may now be 11, but certainly weren't in September! All of
the boys are now in 5th grade. As far as I know, NONE of the boys earned their
Arrow of Light. I was talking to our Cub Master last night about my plans for
my boys' AOL ceremony. I mentioned that I wanted the entire Pack there and
that in our 4 years with the Pack, had never seen an AOL ceremony. He said
that as far as he could tell from the records, we would be the first group
"in many years" from our Pack to earn the AOL.
Hmmm, curious, huh?!
Anyway, thanks for the responses. I'm glad that my boys didn't "rush" to earn
the Arrow of Light. This has been a good learning year for them. I think they
are probably more prepared to be Boy Scouts than they were this time last year.
