For those people on SCOUTS-L who are interested in the Nationa; l Bulletin:
The National Bulletin is published 3 or 4 times per year by the OA . The
Bulletin is Mmailed to all of the OA volunteers on the Nationasl l , Rewgional,,
Section, Lodge, and Chapter Levels. The National Committee, the Region Committee
the National and Regional Officers, the Section Officers and their advisors
all get a copy. When these people are selected, their address is added to the
list. The Section Information is included as part of the conclave report that
is forwarded to the National office and the Region.
When Lodges recharter (its about that time of the year again!) , they are given
a sheet to list who they would like the National Bulletin sent to for the year.
There are eight or so spots, but the lodge can send the bulletin to anybody they
request. Your spot has to be renewed each year, or else you are removed from the
I don't remember if it is tstill policy, but when I was a lodge chief in 1987,
there used to be a bulk supply sent to each council office at the ratio of
something like 1 issue per every 25 arrowmen. This may not be accurate anymore,
since I haven't paid attention since I've received my copy through the Section
Officer part of the list.
If you want to get a copy, you MUST talk with your lodge, chief, lodge adviser
staff adviser, or supreme chief of the fire to be placed on the list. Last I
knd ew, you couln't get on the list by calling Allen Mossman at the National
Office and requesting to be placed on the list. There's no longer the $1 o $2
charge per year, but the drawback is that the request must come from the Lodge.
Chapter Officers get pa laced on the list by the lodge when they recharter.
I hope this helps clear things up about the National Bulletin.
