After reading the many responses and opinions of "prayer" on this list
lately, I have managed to stay out of the discussion. However, today, one
day before Thanksgiving, I simply can not remain quiet.
Please remember, "You knew the rules when you joined our movement. If you
can change them within the guidelines of our movement, and you can not work
with the rule(s), please leave. We do not need you."
If we keep all children in little padded rooms they also do not get hurt.
However, exposing them to the "real" world, is and does build solid
participating thinking citizens. That is what our country is all about -
that is what Thanksgiving is all about - that is what Scouting in the USA
is all about ---- helping a boy reach his fullest potential, not hiding him
from outside influences. He WILL have to deal with the world eventually!
Let's remember we are here to help him cope, think, make decisions, react,
Happy Thanksgiving to all of you -- remember you are all here for a boy,
not awards, nor personal honors - just simply a boy! Try to help one over
