I don't remember who posted the "11" Scout laws but who ever it
was don't let it get you too red in the face. Let me tell a
little tale that, I hope will, make you feel better.
The Eagle Scout Association (mandatory aside that we started
several years before the National) of Cleveland does one or
more "Service Projects" every year at or local camp.
In my first year with the Association we put up a series of
"Burma Shave" signs on the main road into camp. Each sign
had one of the Scout laws. Since we all learned them "in
order" as to reach the rank of tenderfoot getting them lined
up was a simple task for the "new guy". Right? Wrong!!!!!
I think it was even cheerful I missed. My penalty was a
red face and getting elected president :-) :-) of the
The important thing is to live the law even when it is
tough to be CHEERFUL.
