Having transferred several Tigers to our Pack Roster last spring, I am
POSITIVE that in the Toledo Area Council the transfer fee is not charged
for this change. The $1 is only chanrged for a transfer from one
unit to another, and the Tigers ARE affiliated with our unit. When we
get our charter and unit roster the Tigers and Tiger parents are all
I too think the Tigers should be integrated with the Pack as much as
possible. They are encouraged to attend all Pack meeting and invited to
participate in all special events. We had a family campout this weekend
at Camp Miakonda, and 6 out of 12 Tigers attended with a parent or both.
This worked GREAT! I gave the boys the camp tour with lots of WHEN YOU COME
TO SUMMER CAMP HERE IS WHERE THE BB GUNS, ARCHERY, BMX etc. is set up.
It gave us (the soon to be outgoing leaders) a chance to meet, talk to,
and "size up" the Tiger folks as our potential successors, and give them a
taste of how much fun scouting can be!
We have a Tiger dad as our committee chair THIS year, and we are looking for a n
asst. cubmaster to tap from this new group. Question: We are wondering how
new unit leaders (Cubmaster, Asst. CM, Comm Chair) are chosen in other packs?
WHAT'S WRONG WITH THIS PICTURE: At our District Pinewood Derby, the Tiger cubs
are NOT allowed to compete. We do invite them to our Pack Pinewood, and last
year a TIGER was PACK CHAMP! He was crushed when he found he could not go
on...and the rest of the boys were not excited about district since they had
already be beaten by a TIGER CUB!!! Hmmmm.....I hate to admit this situation
causes even the most TRUSTWORTHY folks to joke about switching cars for the
district event!! Of course, we didn't allow it!!!!
