Troye round tables ideas will work!
I have seen great round tables runing almost like what Troye
has outlined. One more thought I would add that seems to
help, have the OUTLINE of the next round table at each
round table. Ask units or individulas to volunteer and
sign up for presentations, demonstations, skits, songs
whatever! Get as many units as posible to sign up so
they have to come back next meeting, even if its just to
bring the coffee (very important job!). I also prefer
to observe the various topics discussed or demonstrated
by a varity of prsenters, rather than one poor round table
staff member reading from his notes, and passing out some
handouts or hot tips, or comming events or whatever.
I have even seen some scout master bring in scouts to
run the demonstrations. But it makes for something a
little different at each meeting. SO a first time attendtee
don't go home boored, and never come back, have him stand
up, introduce himself, and unit, and sign him/her up for
next meeting! Give them something interresting to do,
and they will keep comming back, almost like scouts!
