Let me see if I have this correct....
There are devices (very small pins to be worn on Square Knot patches to
show in what area the Knot was earned: footnote for those folks who don't
know what we meant by "devices") which indicate Boy Scout (standard
emblem), Explorer (the "E"), Commissioner (a wreath), Varsity Scout (?),
and Tiger Cub (?) service. There is also a Cub Scout emblem device.
The first three are used with the Scouter's Key and Scouter's Training Awards,
each of which can be earned in all three areas. If you earned the Training
Award as an Assistant Scoutmaster, Associate Exploring Advisor, and Unit
Commissioner, you would wear one Scouter's Training Award Knot with all
three devices. Would you wear one STA medal with three devices on the ribbon,
or three STA medals each with the appropriate device for more formal wear?
If you earned the STA or Scouter's Key as part of a Varsity Huddle, would you
add the Varsity Scout device (for a maximum of four per Knot)?
You do have to be registered to earn the Cub Scouter Award according to the
Tenure requirements on my tracking card. Tiger Cub Adult Partners are
registered Scouters... it just doesn't cost them an extra $7.00!
If you served two years as a TC Adult and two years as a Committee Member (not
coincidental -- four years total), could you earn the Award twice and wear
the Knot with TC and standard Cub Scout devices on it?
Same question but two years as a Tiger Cub Organizer and two separate years
as a Den Leader Coach... could you wear both devices on a DLC Knot?
The other Cub Scout Knots could only be earned in one area by definition.
Incidentally, the only place I have ever seen the standard Cub Scout emblem
device called for was on a special belt buckle (or patch?) which had
something to do with camps. I have never heard of it being used on Knots.
Now for the Religious Award Knots and devices:
If a boy earned God and Me as a Tiger Cub and God and Family as a Cub Scout,
would he wear two devices on the youth Religious Award Knot?
An adult can wear an Eagle Knot (I often see them worn with Palms, too) and
and Arrow of Light Knot on his/her uniform. If the adult earned a Religious
Award as a youth, can said adult also wear the youth Religious Knot on his/her
