Those last two sentences don't sit very well together. You first say that
change must come from within. As has already been established, it's difficult
for gay Scouters to work for change from within an organization that
disenfranchises us. The straight Scouters don't want to bother because "we ...
have too much to worry about with this issue on top."
In fact, I am working from within. This mailing list is "from within," because
I'm one Scout dealing with other Scouts. If I can't work to clear up
misinformation and educate here, where can I? The professional Scouters I have
come out to as one Scout to another is "from within." The letters I have
written to Ben Love and his minions is "from within." Pardon me if I also join
a mailing list for gay Eagle Scouts who want to organize some working from
within. Please just don't ask me not to discuss this topic *here* and suggest
that I "work from within."
