Re: Filling out multiple applications

We had the very same problem of filling out "secondary" applications
for Merit Badge counselors. We had the same statements and replies.
It turns out the BSA is now recording Merit Badge counselors as if
it is a MULTIPLE position. This is the same as when a leader in
a current unit wants to be also registered as a member of a second
unit. A new application must be put in with just the top part filled
out and the MULTIPLED position clearly marked. Notations should
also be made as to WHERE the adult is currently registered for
the office work at your council. I know that many people are not
even aware of this policy. Well, it is now being applied to ALL
current leaders who apply to be merit badge counselors (I believe
that current counselors are required to fill this out also).
Think about it, some merit badge counselors hold no other position.
Would you want them working with your kids if they had not
been properly registered?? Old timers balk at filling our another
form, but its really for the kids' and the leaders' safety.
I hope that I have this correct, but if anyone has anything to
add, I welcome your input.
