Yes I know I already put in my two cents. But I forgot some important
factors!! Severl BSA councils have started puting on SALES and Auctions
of their OWN!! YES Councils of the BSA! I don't know how I got on the
mailing lists, but I expect they got it from the membership lists of
one or more traders associations. Does that mean they "recognise" the
traders groups? Probable not in any official capacity as yet, but some
have sent in comments of the "patch policies" to national anyway.
The local Western NY scout traders trade-o-ree and auction also raises
money for local scouting. In the past profits have gone into the
exploring division etc. Also note that a OA section conclaves it has
become fairly common to "auction" donated items to help to reduce the
cost of hosting the conclave. So be careful what you call BSA "policy"!
All councils don't seem to know or follow what ever those policies are
purcieved to be!!!
