The article that Chris speaks of was in several magazines, among them US
News and World Report. One of the accidents mentioned was the Carrollton
Bus Tragedy, in which an entire busload of children and teens returning
from a trip to Kings Island (an amusement park in southern Ohio) ran into
a drunk driver driving the wrong way on the Interstate. There were several
design flaws from the old school bus converted to a church bus which was
By the way, the children who died (including a relative of my Godsister)
were from my parents' hometown, Radcliff Kentucky, as well as from my
home town of Rose Terrace.
Anytime a situation like this occurs makes me pause for a momment and
remember just how fragile our lives really are. My prayers also go out
to the families of the Girl Scouts involved in this accident.
