I will call Philmont....and Diana....and let her know about that!
I was only at Philmont for four weeks to teach the Exploring Service and
Training Conference and to team teach the Commissioners' Conference...
and I can truly appreciate the comment that "even the bushes look good
after two weeks".
Seriously, I will contact Diana Crow and tell her about the Rayado Crews.
This woman is really interested in going...I have tried to get her to go
on staff there, but she wanted the experience before she applied for a
staff position. She also wanted to go because Philmont did a great job of
selling itself to her from the slides and the VHS tape of the facility.
If you have NOT seen it, I do recommend getting a copy of the tape and
showing it to the Dianas in your unit.
Personally, I am looking forward to going to Philmont in the 1992 camping
season on the staff of the Volunteer Training Center. (*fingers crossed*)
Looking ahead....if your Council could use a hard worker as Camp Commissioner
please let me know. I will be looking for Camp Commissioner positions with
one (or two Councils, if the timing is right) next summer to finish out my
Master's degree thesis. I have a great deal for the Council(s) that get me:
NO SALARY, just food, a staff tent, two camp teeshirts and a patch or two.
(if a Council is intent on offering a salary, I will turn it around and donate
it to their SME fundcite!)
Settummanque!@ HEY! I wish that I could work camp this summer, but......
