My GS Council is broken down into Service Units. I get most of the
information I need from my Service Unit, rather than council. When
I have needed Council, I have found it easier to go in to talk with
someone there, rather than call.
As to where to meet, I have been meeting in the school cafeteria for
several years. I know of other troops that meet in leaders homes,
in churches, at the ELKS Club, the town community room, and even at
the mall community room. It sometimes takes a few calls, but I have
found most people like to do what they can for Scouts. (There's always
those exceptions of people that have had a bad experience with someone
