Our only remaining OPEN summer camp has used the ONE car per site
rule fairly well. They had per PERMIT system that worked OK last
year, where each site got a permit, and no cars could pass the gate
with out the permit.
However, I like the CARTS idea also. The carts could also be used
during the week for transport of items arround camp to sut down
ALL camp traffic. Like food to any sites doing patroll cooking, etc.
The carts could even be used for a campwide game, or race etc.
It would work best if the camp has a centralized parking area, but
could work in any situation. I have also seen some small trailers
that could be used if a build it yourself design could not be found.
Heck, maybe each troop should have their own. Then they could be used
at camporees, camporals etc. We have a new camp kitchen that could have
wheels added, and with the legs inverted, the rest of the coolers for
food etc, could be transported as a unit. This has got me thinking,
which could be dangerous, but I will try not to hurt myself.
