If WEBELOS are in camp as the guest of a SCOUT unit, they should be
included as part of the scout programs. That has been the policy
of our district/council. If they are camping on there own, they
would be limited to whatever the CUB camping program provides.
And yes! This has been changing back and forth over the years,
partly because of insurance and safety concerns, and partly
to leave some programs areas limited to scouts, for various reasons.
Our CUB and SCOUS Camps are at one camp until the other camp is
updated and reopened as a CUB camp. Scouts were unable to get time
in many program areas, because of WEBELOS last year. Those areas
tied to merit badges, and required skills, were avaialble this year
only at limited times, if at all, to the WEBELOS. Other than that,
a WEBELOS program should not be the same as a scout program! Kids
will get boored with the same programs, and at least our council
dosn't have the resorces to create NEW scouting programs now! They
just finished with the revised handbook and new requirements!!!
