Well looks some summer is over, and the summer camps are packed up and
stored for another year. Some major changes have and are happening to
socuting in the Empire State (NY). Two of the larger camp complexes in
adirondacks are now combined into the Adirondack Scout Preserve. Lots
of great new programs are anticipated. Along with the camp reorganizations
are the mergers of Steuben council and Sullivan trails, including Seneca
lodge and Wakanda. ALso the five councils in the ALbany NY area will become
one super council from, Saratoga, Sir W Johnston, Schenectady, Mohican & .
Gov Clinton (with lodges 19, 48, 181, 268, & 418), I think.
There is rumors that Greater Niagara will merge with Lewiston Trail by the
end of the year. We have been but down to three districts from about 12,
5 years ago, and only one camp is left open for summer camp. Whats new
from you all out there?
