I don't think that it was an accident that the name Venturing was
chosen. I am sure that those present at the Executive meeting were
aware that some troops have Venture Crews.
I asked the chairman of my committee, Doc Miller, about whether
Venture Crews would be merged with Venturers, and he said no. He may
have misunderstood me, and I will ask him again.
Venture Crews within troops are not proliferating as far as I can
tell. If they were put in with the Outdoor Explorers (Venturers,
excuse me), I think that they would see great benefit.
However, I believe that Venture Crews in troops work on rank
advancement, as they are Boy Scouts. Obviously, there are some details
that would have to be worked out concerning this.
Again, I have no confirmation at this time that Venture Crews will be
merged into Venturer Posts, however it would make sense to me.
