Susan, et al,
The Explorer Advanced Leadership Development Seminar was designed to meet
the needs of Explorers and Advisors. If you have an Exploring Training
Chair, they should be certified to teach the advanced program, or anyone
who has attended the National Exploring Seminars at Philmont should also
have that certification.
The syllabus and video tape is available from Council Office or if not in
stock they can be ordered from Supply Service.
This program is very interactive and is best done with a mix of advisors
and Explorers. I have recruited Explorers as well as advisors to be
trainers for the program. We add-in a module on post program planning and
development which is very useful for the Explorers, especially for new
posts just getting started. We have used it for about three years and
have good reports from the participants who use the techniques to plan
their post programs and to learn about leadership skills. If you are
interested in our revised syllabus for the program, I would be willing to
send you a copy.
