It is my understanding that there are still quite a few openings in a
variety of program areas for youth staff and adults as well. Any
Explorer or Advisor who is interested in appying for a staff position
would probably be welcomed. Get copies of the staff app from your Council
Office (four part NCR form) and fill it out post haste. Send in a copy of
a personal resume with it to describe your skills and talents,
certifications, experience, etc. This is not requested on the form but
practice indicates that it helps the selection folks place you where you
are most qualified and most interested in working. If you have a specific
preference for an area (such as action center) specify that on your
application and/or on your resume.
Send the form and resume to the Council office right away. Youth staff
fees are $225 and adults are $445.
We have had some Explorers apply very recently and they were quickly
assigned to action centers and similar program areas. There seems to be a
problem in getting enough staff members this year, when compared to
previous years, so anyone available and willing to work is greatly
appreciated. And, they will have a *great* time...have them bring their
dark green explorer shirts along for official activities.
